Raylan Hines is an avid sports enthusiast, with a particular fondness for basketball. Raylan graduated from Pantego Christian Academy High School, where he played under Coach Andre Walker and excelled in high school varsity basketball, earning district MVP honors, first team all-district selection for two years, and scoring over a thousand points in his career. Raylan also received honors and recognition for being a tri sport athlete.
Raylan proceeded with his basketball career at Central Christian College, demonstrating excellence in both academic pursuits and athletic endeavors. He was recognized as a scholar athlete. His achievements included receiving MVP accolades and recondition as a standout performer within the Sooner Athletic Conference. Raylan then transferred to Washburn University, where he was soon admitted to the basketball team roster as a redshirt sophomore. Unfortunately, the season was halted by the Covid- 19 pandemic.
Raylan then successfully completed his bachelor’s degree at Washburn University, majoring in Business Management and Marketing. Currently, Raylan is an assistant coach at The Oakridge School, working alongside Head Coach Andre Walker.
Throughout his coaching tenure, he successfully led a JV team to a remarkable 20-2 season and contributed significantly to Oakridge School’s participation in the state championship game and Final Four within the competitive Southwest Preparatory Conference. He has also helped Coach at the Middle school level as well.
